Barbara Klin

College Counselor

 

Barbara started her career working in the Hartford Public School District coordinating education programs for the elementary through high school grades.  With over 18 years of experience, she brings a positive perspective to families on the college process and provides a comprehensive list of colleges tailored to each student. Barbara works with students on every aspect of the application process including essay review, letters of recommendation, resume review, and supplemental college information requirements. She believes that each student should have a balanced approach to school selection and assists with establishing a plan to best achieve educational goals. Her expertise is in utilizing all available resources to best suit the student's needs.

Carey Bourque

College Counselor

 

Carey has 20 years of experience as a College Counselor.  In addition to advising students on college placement, she also counsels students on Independent/ Boarding School admissions as well as Graduate School placement. Her expertise is guiding students through the college selection process including application and essay assistance. Carey understands the complexities that arise in the admissions process. She has extensive experience in working in tandem with high school counselors and college admissions officers.  Students benefit from her experience in navigating the LSAC and AMCAS portals.

Peter DeLisa

Peter has had substantial experience in working with students with talents and challenges ranging from elementary school to the college level. His experience includes that of a secondary classroom biology and chemistry teacher, and Middle School Principal. Areas of focus include executive function, organization and study skills, test prep, and subject area tutorial.

JoAnne Carter

Educational Consultant

 

JoAnne Carter has been an Educational Counselor for over 20 years. Having a Professional Educator’s Certificate for the State of Connecticut, prior to becoming a counselor she was a classroom teacher at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She was also an adjunct English and Child Development Professor at Big Bend College on the Coleville Indian Reservation in Eastern Washington. Her administrative experience includes her tenure as Director of Admission, Middle School Head and Assistant Head of School at The Williams School in New London, and Head of the Lower School at The Country School in Madison. Ms. Carter was the Founder and Senior Partner at Education Solutions for 23 years; she sold the company in 2015.  She began JoAnne Carter Consulting LLC to continue her passion for working with students and families in educational and personal crisis.

Sheila Delaney

Sheila has 30 years of experience in education working in various capacities with students at the college, high school, and elementary school levels. She is a Certified Special Education teacher with extensive training in learning disabilities, executive function, attention deficit, high functioning autism spectrum exceptionalities, and reading intervention.
